Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my data on a new iPhone?

If you have iCloud Drive enabled, your data syncs automatically. Just sign in to your iCloud account on the new device and open Bills & Balance. Alternatively, use the Export to JSON feature on your old device and Import on your new one.

How do I set up recurring bills?

Go to Templates and create a template for any bill you pay regularly. Each month, tap "Add from Templates" to generate that month's bills in one tap. You can also mark templates as autopay so they are easy to identify.

How do reminders work?

Bills & Balances can send you notifications before a bill is due, on the due date, and when a bill becomes overdue. You can configure the timing in Settings. Notifications include a "Mark as Paid" button so you can act without opening the app.

Can I use Bills & Balances on multiple devices?

Yes. Enable iCloud Drive in your iPhone Settings and your data will sync automatically across all your Apple devices signed in to the same iCloud account.

How do I export my data?

Tap the export button on any month view to save a CSV file you can open in Numbers or Excel. You can also export a full JSON backup from Settings for safekeeping or migrating to a new device.

Is my financial data private?

Yes. Bills & Balances has no servers and collects no data. Everything stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I enable Face ID lock?

Go to Settings inside the app and toggle on Face ID / Touch ID. You will be prompted to authenticate, and from then on the app will require biometrics to open.
